A glimpse into the prototype of a magazine based on the Kamasutra. A client required a prototype of a magazine based on the Kamasutra. My first instinct was not to take the project. But to take a heavy weight concept like Kamasutra and translate it into a lifestyle magazine for couples of this century proved tempting. A very talented designer - Mishta Roy was the art director/ designer rolled in one on the project. Together, we worked on sections, branding and vision for a magazine which would address "sex" with a eastern rather than western sensibility.

Taking this concept to production counts among my most favorite projects and I hope many such projects come my way. But, the trend remains taking magazines from the west and adapting it to Indian markets with no localization whatsoever.
